shadow minister of war: reform
as many of you may know, the Britannican armed forces are in desperate need of reform. the government predicts a spending of 63 billion pounds this year alone. this is money that can be spent elsewhere. this is my solution: at the moment the army has 235,000 personell. we do not need these numbers of men defending our borders from enemies jealous of our nation's wealth. firstly, in organisation terms, there should be one thousand men in a regimental unit giving the country 235 regiments to distribute as needed. i suggest a distribution of 10 regiments in Ohiona, 10 in Marioka, 10 in Tiranov, 2 in Ragnald's Head and 3 in Parika. these regiments would be defeated in battle should they be assaulted by invaders so they should set up colonial defence organisations. the members will receive citizenship as a reward. to avoid insurrection from these forces they will have no heavy weapons or tanks. should rebellion occur then the regiments will be equipped to deal with them. with the tank situation, any numbers we wish to reduce we should sell the tanks to neutral and allied states. we shall not sell ammunition. in the case of laying off soldiers, i feel that the government should make public works projects such as roads and railways to keep them occupied and to give the government a feeling that their money would have been spent anyway. we will have the finest and most numerous roads in the world. logistics for campaigning armies would also be drastically improved. another issue at the moment is that there are no regiments defending Britannica herself. i think there should be 10 regiments posted on her borders to keep them out of the cities during peacetime. no doubt new cities will grow around the borders due to the traders and merchants finding a new market. there will be controlled immigration to stop any flood of foreigners taking advantage of state benefits. overall this will reduce the army to 45,000 posted men and 190,000 public works soldiers ready to fight when called for. if any of you think i should change this reform then send me a pm on your ideas and advice. we can correct the "efforts" of Carlosse. thank you.

We need to improve are military, we need to make it bigger and stronger. there is always a chance a hostile state may attack us and we will be unprepared and we will be crushed.

in this new age of enlightenment surely we can use talking as the politics for peace rather than the politics of war, which is both costly and distressing for those taking part. under a liberal government our people will have the will to fight due to the rewarding society we will feed and encourage. the people would rise against an invading army. with a whole nation of people fighting in a resistance their armies would fall. no-one fucks with Britannica.

That would be the way in a ideal world but it cant and wont happen. We need to maintain and improve a strong army. we need to be the military power of the world!

I agree with Slim. Theres simply no need to waste billions of pounds on a Military which we neither need or want. That money can help fund making Britannica a better place for everyone. We much reach some agreement about Disarment. Without it the future looks bleak. For a shadow Minister of War, Slim you've shown to the world that we Liberals will stick to our guns.

in a perfect world there would be no need for armies but as you said this is not so. however, i see your view of a massive military as a dangerous misallocation of government resources. the romans could just about manage 25% of their money on the military and they still fell because they didnt move forward socially and technologically. i dont want to see Britannican citzens ravaged by taxes for the army, i want to see them rich, prosperous, happy and patriotic. it is tempting to want a large army but as you said, it is not a perfect world.

We need a strong Military if groups like the Muslims start growing they could try and make civil wars to make Islamic laws. If a enemy nation attacks we will not be able to defend are selves. People like Nazis are not intrested in talk just action!

Under a goverment of my new party we will not have immigration so that money would be saved for are military we could even use a fraction of that money on other things like Health. We could also expand and take over 3rd worl countrys give them democracy with a parliment with so much power. we would benefit from this aswell as the 3rd world country.

Yes slim i am in total agreement we cannot afford a big army. It isn't our intrest to have a big Military. The world cannot be made prefect, but theres no harm in bringing some good liberal laws in to make it a better place.

you speak of a strong military. what you must realise is that we have a larger military than many other local states. salentina has less personell. however, we must not compare our military to that of other states as we have a different political situation.

Liberal laws end up doing more harm than good. They are intended for good but do more harm.

Then we must make Laws which will work. Our greatest primary task is giving the people more power in their country. Is that doing more harm than good?

Dont bring hitler into this. he was a EVIL SICK man. He is nothing to do with me and my nationalism views. He did actually make his country great he made his army possibly the best in the world look how long it too us to defeat him and how many of us. But he was a sick and evil man. We are not nazis that is why we have elected jews.
